HD Bracket Options for Fold-Away/Drop-Leaf Outfeed Table?

Hey folks – Newbie John here...

I'm in the research/design phase of a new rolling table saw/router station. Currently have a 50x65" table I made years ago. I've recently added a 52" Biesemeyer fence and I need to extend the table another 22" to accommodate. While I'm at it, I'd like to add cabinets, miter and t-tracks and finally a long overdue, folding outfeed table. I've been plenty happy sliding sheet goods over my laminate top and will probably forgo the Grizzly roller approach. But we're still talking about 36-40" of leveraged table table to support. And full 4x8' sheets of melamine traveling over that... Needs to be stout.

Found two solutions below, but I thought I'd ask what others have done. I love the emphasis of creative, space-saving solutions around here. If there are better options, I'm all ears.

Grizzly's roller outfeed appears to have a convenient release on it. It's on their parts page, so it's possible that could be purchased separately.

I'm in the design phase myself as well.

I have an older Unisaw I've been rebuilding. Added a metal chute on the inside to direct the saw dust to the dust collector connection, and have made some other mods. My next step is to design, and install the brackets for the outfeed table before I paint the saw.

The outfeed table will likely be an additional work surface, so rollers are out for me. And if rollers aren't true with the blade they will cause your work to walk unless you have a riving knife setup. So my setup will probably incorporate fold down legs instead of relying on an angled support.

That's definitely the easy-button for weight holding. If I can't find drop-leaf brackets I like, I may just go with legs from one half of a folding picnic table and fold them up under when the leaf is down.

Then I'd have to find a use for the 2nd pair of legs...

I use a 4' x 4' work bench on casters as an out feed table for my table saw.

However, the attached link shows a folding out feed table that was built for a ridgid saw; but the basic concept could be adapted to most any saw.

Yeah, that hinged table is exactly what I have in mind – it's the reach-under, telescoping, kick-into-place, support thingy I'm looking to beat.

If a folding table leg style will work, just google "heavy duty adjustable folding table leg". Or "folding heavy duty bracket". Lots available out there. The folding bracket in the photo is made by Hafele and is probably elsewhere or from another manufacturer for cheaper.

Wouldn't a folding leg(s) be stronger? Plus you could have have adjustable feet. What about making some up to suit from 1" square tubing? Or instead of folding up against the table saw, perhaps you could make something that hooks onto the saw and has the folding leg(s) on the roller assembly? Then you could store that away on it's own?
