So I own Harleys and everybody always jokes that the hd on Harley Davidson stuff stands for hundred dollars. Well as soon as I bought a house and got a garage I got a new hundred dollar hd and it's home depot. Today was no exception I've been looking for a jigsaw that would be good with metal and wood so i had a $150 budget. As I was walking through the hd today just checking out the Bosch ridged Milwaukee and dewalt jigsaws they had a deal on the smaller of the dewalt jig saws DEWALT 5.5 amp Jig Saw Model # DW317 $99 with a free sander 1/4 sheet dw411 with no cases. I don't have a sander or a jig saw so i fell like that's a pretty good combo for me and i think the price is right what do you guys think?

Look on the bright side, Home Depot won't leave an oil stain on your garage floor.

Sounds like a good deal on the DeWalt stuff. Pretty good quality stuff.

Its definitely true.. I go into buy a box of nails..Always spend at least $100..Sometimes just on hardware.. That always *****..Realizing you spent so much and have nothing to really show for it but some screws/nuts/bolts.

Stop buying hardware at the box stores. Its easily twice the price of any hardware store and usually way more than that if you oreder online.

I know sometimes you dont have a choice, thats why you stock up when you find a good deal

Not in my area. One of the few remaining hardware stores left wan't 3-5 times as much for the same bolts as lowes. Our lowes has a stock of hardware only second to the local industrial fastener dealer. Just Lowes is close.

If harley built airplanes would you fly on them?

sure I would. only been stranded on the raodside a few times

1 ran out of gas, was pushing the limit too much and ran out about 1/2 mile from home - not Harley fault

2 fuel filter collapsed starving the bike....aftermarket part - not Harleys fault

3 DynaS ignition kinda grenaded in the cone of the motor.....not a harley part either

Yea, theres actually a place around here that sells nothing but fasteners. I always forget to go there though.

I think Tractor Supply still sells stuff by weight. Probably also a better place to go if you need in bulk.

The Dewalt sounds like a fair deal. However, I would rather get a nice used Bosch jigsaw from a pawn shop, Craigslist, Ebay for less money.

I don't bother with the crappy quality and selection of fasteners at Home Depot. They are expensive, too. We have a local Ace that is wonderful for that kind of stuff. Our local Ace actually has good prices on power tools, too. They have what I need, the price is right, and I can be in and out in 5 minutes if needed.

The pawn shop is where I get most of my tools but around here they've been kind of expencive lately and selection is kinda low. The bonus sander got the better of me. Congrats DeWalt marketing you win the battle but the war is far from over

I cut a lot of 1/8 steel with jig saws and I think my favorite saw is the older B&D-Dewalt with the orbital and or guide wheel to support the blade.

I have to agree that typically the Bosch saw is probably the best and use some of them as well.

F no! It would be like asking if a plain had a detroit diesel would you fly on it, answer for both is noooooooo!

If somehow an aircraft had to rely on your grasp of the English language and spelling to remain aloft that plane would crash into the plain.

The beauty of the English language much like my insults lies in the subtle nuances. :headscrat
