Not sure how hot this deal is or if it's nationwide (I'm in the SF bay area), but these are selling in the stores for $19.99:

Angle die grinder

Whether these actually go for $80 very often I don't know. They are made in Taiwan and the box says 'Lifetime Warranty.' (The site says 2 years.) I figure keep the box top and bring it to the store if you want your $$ back in 5 years...

Does it still show $79.99 on the website even if the store is only $19.99?

I went to my local HD and checked, it rang up $79.99 (seattle area). Btw, regarding the failures, these have a 2 year mfg warranty.

They're marked down in SF from $79.99 to $19.99 on the price tags-- that's what caught my eye. Wonder why Seattle isn't doing the same? Sorry you had to run down there for nothing in the end.

I saw the '3 died on me' review as well, and hope mine does better (who buys a third one, if the first two fail?) but the warranty is nice to have.

You didn't read the review that closely. They bought three at once, and all three failed after one week.

Of course that suggests they were really used in a production setting. One week of "almost continuous" use might equal a lifetime of casual use.

You're right, they were bought all at once. I forgot/missed that. Poor guy had a bad week.

If they were using them continuously for a week, who knows what might have happened? No oiling==certain failure even if you have a Sioux.

Mine's doing well so far, though hardly continuous use.
