Here's the story. A friend of the family's husband has developed a disability that will no longer allow him to work. They decided to move from out in the country to in town and down size their house. She asked if I would go through his tools and just make her a basic in house tool kit in a small carry type took box she could stick in a closet. After doing so I asked her what to do with the items that were left over, I figured she'd want to sell them on CL. She said........."You can have them, just keep them if you want them".

That's awesome to hear. I love my bottom box like that one. When I got it off Craigslist, first thing I did was turn it around so the cupholders are on the front. Dunno why they built it like that. But I love me some old craftsman boxes. Keep her nice and clean

I was wondering if that could be done. Was it hard to do? Also, how do you slide the top to reveal the hidden storage compartments? With the top chest on it mine won't slide.

Massive suckage!!!

But a few dinners and an "available to help" phone call arrangement would be in order...

Those weren't free. Free is driving by the garbage put out for next mornings trash pickup and finding something good LOL. You did someone a favor and they reciprocated very generously. So nice guys don't always finish last! Bravo for giving a helping hand! So I am giving you a GOLD STAR instead of a "YOU ****"!

With her husband being sick, I told her to call my anytime she needs something "manly" done around the house. She does have 2 teenage boys, and one teenage girl. The boys aren't to helpfull with mechanical/house type stuff. I told her if I couldn't handle it I'd make sure whoever she/we got to do the work that needed to be done wouldn't take advantage of her.
