I'm in the design stage of a 30 by 40 garage. Im using 6x6 post 8' O.C. with 2x10 double top band. The doors will be on the 40ft side, along with the trusses bearing the weight. On the 30ft sides why would I need to continue the 2x10 double header on this side, its not carrying the weight of the trusses? I could just continue carrying the 2x4 purlins up as the top band and save money?
