Years ago when I was still managing auto repair shops, our BG Products sales rep came in with a headlight restore kit. It had everything you needed from microfiber towels, compounds, UV protectant and a small air gun for sanding, a $100 kit he was offering for $10ea. (Limited time offer). He also offered a class in using it. Everyone signed up, a full day class on Saturday. The guy teaching it was a pro and I learned a lot. One of the tricks he said would work, if UV protectant wasn't available, you could use the Rustoleum Clear Gloss Spray with UV protection. A few years later having run out of my supply I used it on my truck. It actually worked, lasted a good 5 years before they started to cloud up. I've used it ever since.

Sorry. I was busy eating a crayon. What point about ceramic coatings were you trying to make? I must have missed it.
I should have figured you'd have trouble understanding something that complex. My apologies for not realizing your thought processes were impaired by your age. Sorry.

Cibies are not on the market any more but they were 150 dollars for a pair and used h4 bulbs... Koitos are available now for a 189 dollars and are by the experts opinions even better than the Cibies...
Firebrick, [and every other light aficionados] Good news Cibie is still available:
Down a little ways, now made in Japan by another company but supposedly original tooling. My Cibie's will light up stop signs 5 miles away, yes 5 miles [~26000']! Harry
