I wear ear plugs 9 hours a day. 5 hours, out for a 30 min lunch, back in for 4 more hours. They work fine and are comfortable. However I should not be left alone with the voices in my head for that long. I come up with some pretty strange ideas, carry on some odd one sided conversations and other atrocities than no mortal man should bear witness to.

I asked and over the ear muffs are ok as long as they have a noise reduction rating of 24 or higher. My question is, are there any muffs that have a 24 or higher NR rating, that also have Bluetooth? This way I could broadcast music into my brain in a vain attempt to keep my mental demons at bay? If possible, could they be around $100 or so??

As I side note the illusions to my pending mental collapse are truly in jest, I'm not crazy, my Mother had me tested. Keith

When I painted in the shipyard and used needle guns to remove paint for 8 to 10 hours a day, I used skull candy earbud headphones and put the earmuffs over top. Ran the cord down my shirt to keep it out the way. I could have the music up only halfway and not even be able to hear the needle guns.

So I'm afraid I may be, once again, recommending that which is not exactly what you have asked for. But FWIW I've been using the Ryobi RP4530's and they're basically the best "ear muffs" I've ever worn. Really comfortable IMO. But they are not Bluetooth, you'd have to plug in directly with the 3.5mm jack.

I didn't dig too hard for an actual factory manual but according to the reviews on Amazon NRR is 25. And the reviews are right about battery life going FOREVER, these seem to never need a battery swapped or charged.

If you're later interested, there are better prices on ebay. I got mine as a blem or return-to-vendor deal, so they were really cheap, like under $20. New retail is definitely more. The Tek4 stuff DOES have a battery holster that uses 3 AAA's (it doesn't or shouldn't come in the ear protection kit) so you're not really locked into proprietary batteries or Tek4 chargers.

But again, no Bluetooth, sorry. I wonder how hokey it'd be to plug in a Bluetooth adapter into the 3.5mm jack? You might look like the Borg, which could really work in well with your mental delusions and make-believe stories. Me, I prefer to run around in a big diaper wearing a hockey mask and wielding an axe. People will run from a man in a diaper. Who knew??

On a more serious note, make sure you have your hearing checked regularly. When I worked at CCC in PDX I wore my hearing protection religously. In four years I lost 7/8 % of my hearing.

I wear music earbuds underneath the HF black/yellow cans. They're not wireless and don't affect the noise having a tiny wire going through them.

This is not at work but doing stuff at my home. I'm sure you would want to get some 3M or other pro brand for use at work; I would.

I've only seen one with built in radio (3m I think). I have a couple pairs of muffs and buy plugs. I just bought peltor shotgunners from home depot for like 7 bucks; excellent folding muffs.

Such a bluetooth model might exist but I don't know if they interfere with the sound dampening if at all. Wouldn't joke about the voices; besides the mental illness there are reports of placed communications in people, I don't know if they're real but it wouldn't surprise me. Evil empire man.
