Hello Friends.
I am located in Southern California in the High Desert. I used to not care about tools at all, until I watched a video about sears stealing the logerhead wrench idea, reverse engineering it and selling it at their stores. I took every Craftsman tool out of my box and started hitting the swapmeets.

I converted my garage into the most comfortable workzone. I drink beer, I lounge at night. I spin wrenches, clean parts, sand gas tanks, and really enjoy the smells of old oil, burning steel, and drying paint. I saw this forum and decided to give it a go.

My tool box is now loaded with plvmb, proto, wright, armstrong, s-k, vcheck, williams, and Billings. I have a southbend drillpress that I picked up for a mere $75. I have 100's of other old tools and starret stuff. I also have an old carmpenter's box (loaded) from 1885.

My name is not Hartwell. Hartwell was my grandfather, who was a machinist from the 60's and ran Wiley's Machine Co. down in LA. I am pretty sure he had a law/accounting degree from Harvard, and was their accountant. I have a few of his items: a 'HGH' (Harry G Hartwell) marked scrawl, a half inch starret micrometer, a welding table, and reinforced gates. I love these items above all else because I know he knew how to do **** right. He valued tools and was a maverik from the industrial age.

I am about to build a 20 x 40 shop because we are refinancing our house. The wife wants the garage, so she gave the nod for the project. Please please please subscribe to my youtube channel- Hartwell. I will document the progress with light hearted videos. I am certain that we all have the same interests in common.

Thanks for letting me join your fine community. I am certain I'll fit in, so let the bromances begin!

Thanks again,
Jonathan
