I'm trying to bond two metal surfaces with glue that can take the hot water of a dishwasher. I tried Crazy(cyanoacrylate) glue but this failed on its first dishwasher cycle. Any other ideas out there?

so you're trying to glue the element back on?
sorry, I'm confused I guess
The OP mentioned they wanted something that holds up to hot water. I mentioned the heating element because there is also that radiant heat in the unit. (Sometimes folks forget that there is no hot water in dishwashers - only cold water and the heating element warms everything up.)

... adhesives on or near that heating element would be an issue.

I'm trying to glue a stainless steel sink sponge holder to a neodymium magnet and have it survive the dishwasher to keep it clean. The crazy glue failed its first wash even though on the top rack

you can't, the only 2 ways are thru bolt or weld it.

I have JB Weld holding parts of my tea kettle together. Seems to be holding ok with heat and hot water.

For the sponge rack, I’d be tempted to go with a larger, weaker magnet. Something to cover the whole back of the rack, and something like 3M exterior mounting tape to hold it in place.

I use Marine Epoxy for stuff like this. You can get 5 or 2 hour versions at local home stores. Check the plastic material imprint in the holder and you can confirm the compatibility.

Something like this should also be top rack in the dishwasher. Rare earth magnets don't like heat, but the temperatures on the top rack should be fine.

Thanks to everyone who recommended JB Weld. Going to try their marine epoxy and report back
