Heat Barrier Material for HotDawg?

Just finishing up a Modine HotDawg installation in my new shop. The heater is hung from the 10' ceiling joists which are open insulated. Do I need to put some type of heat resistance barrier on the top of the heater box for fire safety? Thanks!

No! Read the instructions, it will tell you clearances to combustible materials.

Manual calls for just 1" top clearance which it has being mounted at the bottom of the joist... Also, thanks PoorUB for all the info & input you provide to this forum! It helped alot in selecting the HotDawg and installation.
