Heat in J box

I have a time delay relay and light controller mounted in a 6x6x4 PVC box. The box has 3 SOOW cords with strain relief connectors coming out of it. Is there a concern of heat building up in the box from the relay and controller? Should i drill small vent holes?

I don’t think that vent holes are a good idea.

What is the source of the heat?

How about a metal enclosure with Heat Sinks?

Sounds like it's already built? Is it getting hot?

I have only had it turned on for 5-10 min at a time, doesn't feel like it gets hot. I was thinking about if it does get left on for hours at a time normally, the (potential) heat build up could cause the components to fail.

Depends a lot on the light controller. If is is a PWM unit, no worries.
