My shop is well-insulated, and I have a good heater that I run when I'm out there... but the slab is really cold.

My folks got me a heated floor mat (16 inches x 3 feet) that I have placed on top of my anti-fatigue mats where I stand the most in my shop.

Mine is similar to this one, but we paid less than the $64 price tag displayed on this site by buying it locally

This may sound obvious, but it really does help a lot because your feet don't get cold. And energy usage is about the same as a 100 watt light bulb (at least for the model that I have).

My point in posting is that even for those that don't have a well insulated shops, you can easily and inexpensively add a little bit of comfort. And, for those with a heated shop like me, it can still be a worthwhile addition.

That would seem to really help if you are standing there or the mat doing bench work or even a reprieve to the unheated floor area.

I honestly had no idea these existed.

I like 'em. I notice a big difference in how cold I get when I just stand on a foam floor mat. Heat would be... niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Sorry for the delay, I had to call my dad to see where he found the better deal... Turns out it was easier than I thought. Amazon with free shipping.

Here's the exact model that I have... $52 and free shipping

They recommend a low/high switch control.... honestly, not worth the expense as I always use it on high anyways. 135 watt energy usage.

I have definitely noticed a difference in comfort level when standing on the mat as opposed to other areas of my shop where the air may be warm, but the slab may be cold.

My dad (his shop is unheated) actually has one on the floor to stand on, and another on his workbench so that his hands and whatever he's working on are warm too.
