heater electrical hookup

long time reader but short poster. i just received my 45Kbtu Dayton heater for my 2 car garage. i deal with 12V systems on a daily basis but very rarely 120v. instructions say that the unit should be hardwired to it's own breaker but i have an unused outlet in the area i am going to be putting this. could i just use wire nuts and put a cord on the end so i can just plug it in or must i hardwire it. i am planning to run all new wiring in the garage in the future but would like to know if there are any issues for a temp job

Chances are the receptacle you want to use is not on a separate circuit. The biggest issue is that the heater should be installed on its own circuit.
