I’ve been in my shop for about a yr now. I’m located on the Alabama Tennessee line. Shop size is 40x70 with 12 eve pole barn that’s insulated pretty good with 1 garage door. Last year I used a torpedo(125k) heater that’s got a few miles on it. Heating the shop from 8-3 at 60-70 depending on what I was doing, took about gallon and half per day. On the coldest nights the next morning the coldest I saw at knee level was 50 degrees when it dipped down into the 20S. I’m m looking at either a couple of infrared or forced air around 100-125k Btu using propane. Natural gas is available at the road but I’m 2000ft off the road and not afforded at the moment. Would like to hear ppl opinions on what they have or should use. This yr I’ll probably be there around 12 hrs a day.

I would recommend forced air, since you live in an area you might want air conditioning soon if you want to work in summer. If you don't ever want to air condition you might look at infrared tube heaters as they heat objects not air for cheaper operation.
