Heater wiring AGAIN

I know this has been discussed at length, but I am still confused:

I am installing a 6000 watt heater that is 240 and pulls 25 amps.

Here is my plan:
Install a 40 amp double breaker in the box
Use 6/2 wire to a line voltage thermostat (since it is only on one line it only needs to be rated at 12.5 amps, right?)
More 6/2 to the heater.

Does this sound right?
