i just bought a shear / had motor changed from 440 v-to 240 volt -3 phase / now i cant seem to get motor to start ? is it possible the heaters might need changed ?if so what do i go by on motor specs for sizes ? im not a 3 phase guru -but would like to get some heaters for my electrician before he gets here ? he will come look at it on the w/end -no parts available at that time ? thanks for any help:headscrat

The heaters do need to be changed, a motor run at 480V will consume 1/2 the amperes the it will running on 240V, but that is not the problem, the overload relay of the starter may need to be reset or something is miswired, depending on the make & model of the starter it may be a problem getting heater coils, some are only avail. on the used market because they are obsolete.
