Heating an intake manifold?

Do you think it would do any harm to an aluminum intake manifold if I heated it up to 500f for an hour? The reason I ask is I want to use a ceramic finish on it. Thanks!

sounds good to me. just don't turn the hose on it to cool it

No the temp won't hurt it and a casting is not heat treated so you won't draw the temper out of it. Having said that; you want to ramp down the temp SLOWLY, after the cure time lower the oven temp to 400 for half hour, 300 and then 200. So the cooling time from 500 to 200 would be two hours. If you allow it to cool too quickly it may warp.
