Pics and info towards the end of my build thread in my sig. Been playing with it this year quite a bit just to see how far I can push it. I have 1200ft of pex in the concrete (6" thick). 1" foil backed styrofoam under the concrete. Even in the teens through the night and 20's during the day (about as cold as it gets here and never for long) I can keep the floor 58* and the shop will be about 52*. Then if I'm going to be working out there I'll kick on a fan coil that the water pumps through and it blows 90* air. I can bring the shop from 52* to 60* within a couple hours. Now,....if it's 40* or more outside, I can run the slab up to about 65* and the shop will stay 60-62*. Last year I didn't have the floor hooked up and heated the whole shop with just the hot water pumping through the fan coil. I used a programmable t-stat and kicked it back to 45* at night. Then staged it up 3* at 6am, another 3* at 7am, and another 3* at 8am. That would give rest in between for the WH to catch up. I really only have about HALF the BTU that the shop should require......but it works great and costs me hardly anything to run it. As a bonus...there is NO open ignition source with the heat. I can paint or spill gas and not worry about blowing up.
