Looking for some large solid or taper punches 1/2 inch or above.
Mac, Snap on or Cornwell are possibilities at a price.
Any US or European manufacturers that I have overlooked. Will be used on ag machinery.

No limit really but I guess between 1/2 and 1 inch at the point and used for driving not aligning.

Premium punch I would make from S7 shock resisting tool steel. Would have to look up heat treatment but go on the softer/more ductile end. I think this would be superior to anything sold at a commercial price point :)

Proto has a 10" taper punch 3/4 hex body and 3/8 tip and Gray has a 10" pin punch 3/4 hex body and 1/2 tip. I have theses along with a Snap-on 13/16 round bronze drift punch. Anything bigger is home made

I have a big Mac that starts at 1/2 or 5/8 and tapers up. I would have assumed the OEM was Proto. I can't find anything on Mac or Proto's site though.

I can get the # off of it if you want to try to scour Ebay or something like that.

Between that and a race punch, I got by.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have gone down the homemade route as you see.

I was looking for a more tidy option for my box.
I ended up with a Wiha 16mm although it looks a bit short and was difficult to find in the Euro website. Also manged to get a good price on a Cornwell 18in 1/2in so wil lsee how they look when they arrive.
