Heavy Duty stapler info

I have a project that needs to be stapled together.
Ive tried a regular desk stapler but the staples arent long or strong enough to be folded for proper tension.
I see the heavy duty staplers that can do 150+ pages and thats on the right track,but want a wire gauge
thats heavier than household staples.
Is there a stapler made to shoot and fold larger and longer staples?
Ideal would be a stapler that uses the high crown staples like all my staple guns use,but also fold the staple over on the backside.

We use a Swingline 13XD at the office for stapling engineering plan sets together. It uses cartridges for different capacities, which is handy. You just need to match the staple length to the number of pages, or equivalent thickness. I have used it for plan sets that are 3/4" thick with ease.

what gauge are the staples?

I'm not sure of the thickness, but they are noticeably thicker than typical household staples. Never had one break or cause troubles. I have a cheaper model at home that I probably purchased at Office Max or somewhere similar, and it works just fine.

standard staple on the left, heavy duty swingline on the right. its noticeably thicker, you can't use a regular stapler remover to take them out, they are much stronger. You also need the heavy duty stapler, can't use a standard one.

I like all of these and have used them for many years each for different purposes depending on what I'm stapling.



The Bostitch on the far right is a friggin hoss for stapling lots of papers together. I keep 1/2" heavy duty staples in it but it will take up to 5/8" (enough for 130 sheets). It works GREAT BUT it seems to works best with 'Bostitch' brand staples. I did get some jams with a different brand but never with theirs. It's a model B310HDS which I bought at least 10 years ago and I don't see that exact model available any more. The link below looks to be the new and improved version that looks basically the same but now says it can take up to a 15/16 staple and claims to be able to staple up to 215 sheets.

I didn't think about that.
This is great advice. Office Max and the like, if they are anything like the one near me, will likely have a unit that's part of one of their massive printers and will staple whatever you have in seconds flat for next to nothing compared to buying a heavy duty stapler and heavy duty staples.

good idea but its not something I can drag into the local Office Max
