Heavy Equipment Roller Base

My shop is on the tight side for the amount of equipment I have collected so I am in the process of putting much of it on wheels. I had an idea floating around in my head and decided to make it happen last Friday. I have about 6 hours and less than $100 in the base in the pics. The casters are rated for 900 lbs and cost $13 from a surplus place I deal with. They are made in USA by Faultless. The bandsaw on the base is a Startrite 24V10 and was converted from three phase with an Allen Bradley VFD. I like the way the base turned out but probably will not kick the casters out on the next one. Let me know what you think. All constructive criticism is appreciated.

The casters do have a lock on the stem in two positions only. What you can not see is that the table for the bandsaw is perpendicular to the rigid wheels. So when in use the force applied to the saw does not make the saw move.

We have similar bases at school except the are three wheeled and the single wheel on the front drops down so the machine is sitting on the floor so it dosent move

I had considered a rolling base for my band saw, I move it now with a pallet jack. My concern is that with little wheels it would be hard to push, it weights 2200 pounds.

Looks good and hope it makes for a more flexible shop.

2200 is quite heavy. I used 3" casters but they have a suspension so they roll nicely. Part of that might be the smoothness of the floor. Mine weighs 675lb. If it were over a ton I might just work around it. What kind of saw do you have?

This saw is a heavy mother; it is a DoAll 1612-3 with hydraulic table feed. Here is a picture of it.
