So we're approved for our house and now my mind is planning. Would like to know recommendations on lifts. The building is very tall with 14 foot walls and 12 foot doors so height is no issue. I'm told that it has a 10" thick floor or thicker because a lift was in plans for the owner. I personally drive a 01 Ford Excursion and the wife has a 10 Expedition EL. Want something to lift these big boys and then anything smaller is no problem at all.

I'm sad to say I had a much easier time getting a lift made in China then one made here in the USA. There are many lifts on the market that will fit your needs, a lift rated for at least 10,000 lbs. I ended up buying an Atlas Apex 10 plus lift. It easily lifts my F250 diesel.

I don't need anything like that... Lol Money is tight but I don't want skimping on money to get me injured either.

I was confused when the title said heavy lifts then the OP started talking ford excursion.

You need a lift, 10K is pretty standard. Heavy is 20K and up IMO.

Take a look at the Mohawk System-1. It has the 10,000 # capacity you're looking for and is very well built. US made also.

nothing the average person will use will be more than 10k lbs which is often the lowest level on many name brand lifts. even the heaviest of heavy long bed duallys weigh less than 9k lbs.

Man I just noticed that picture above. Didn't realize those were portable lifts. I watched a video about them. I really like that idea with the 13,000 lbs ones. Going to check into them but I know they gotta be $$$$

Is your primary intended use for the lift service or storage? With respect to weight capacity any 9K lift will do just fine. For 4 post lifts you need to be a bit careful with between the post width to clear the mirrors and you need to make sure the runway spacing is appropriate for your axle width. You need to check your maximum lifting height if you intend to use the lift for storage. For 2 post lifts, since they have to be anchored you need to consider how much width you find acceptable so you can figure out whether you are looking for a symmetric or asymmetric lift.

Net, net if you want any worthwhile feedback you need to provide some more information.....

Well here's the building for it. Height is no issue. Not really needing it for storage. Just working on personal and customer vehicles
