Hein Warner 57 end lift ?

Does anyone have a Hein Warner # 57 1.5 ton jack it looks like a end lift which has pads to lift the side of a car. Is this a dinosour that was better suited as a bumper jack with the attacments or does this still have practical uses? Any comments?

To elaborate the pads are kinda high and dont fit under the side my cars and not really suited to lifting the side of an F-150 with running boards.
