I have an old four ton hein werner floor jack that slobbers profusely and needs resealed. My question goes to model ID, I believe it is a GH of some sort but the frame plates on my unit are a thicker solid plate as opposed to the thinner formed ones I see in the drawings, The number plates usually attached to the jack are missing. Any ideas? Thanks.

I Believe that is a Hein Werner GG, Im not 100% sure though as its been awhile but since Ive been inside one, but I know there are kit differences between the GG and GH.

What is the Ram diameter?

The ram measures 1.375 in. This is the diameter of the exposed part as I have not disassembled the unit I don't know the piston diameter at this time.

that is the exact one I have at home, picked it up at a garage sale for $75 left it at the house till I could get my truck and a dozen others wanted to purchase it. I believe mine is a GG with out going out there.

I in no way mean to discount value of anyone's input and have disassembled the jack unit, the piston measures 2.5in. in diameter.

I just picked up another 4 ton long frame HW similar to this one a few days ago
(my 3rd one) in pretty good shape, dry underside and working!
But it was outside and has some surface rust from sitting and a recent rare rain storm we had.

In the repair question section,
What is that bright orange paint color that Hein-Werner used for so many years?
I want to paint this jack.

A closer look. It appears yours is a GG (earlier model, from parts catalog copy write dates)
Mine is a GH or GH-1. (later dates)
repair Kit numbers are different.
From on line part manuals and looking at my own 4 ton HW and the other one pictured here.

There is a subtle difference in the frame design. Your frame is flat plate. Mine "curls" over the top to meet the lifting arm at level.
It would appear the change was added to better resist side movement/flex. Mine is more square cornered at the handle attachment back of the jack, yours is rounded.
