Hein Werner Jack Stands

I am looking for a good quality set of U.S Made Jack stands. I came across the Hein Werner 6 Ton Set from northern tool. They are around $100. Any other options or is this the best choice?

we have that same exact set there pretty good

the only problem we find with them is that the locking mechinism can get jammed up every now an then if it gets to much mud and dirt in them

other then that there ausome

I've been thinking about HW, and have seen these two. I need some, and I've pretty much given up on the ESCO/AC as I can't determine if one is made in Europe from Euro steel and the other Chinese or if they both are.

I wonder if these two American makers use US Steel as well?

I was contemplating the Esco units when I was in the market for jack stands last year. They certainly looked well built, but in the end I just felt that I couldn't trust the Chinese with my well being.

The US Jack, jack stands are manufactured in the U.S. by a U.S. company. As for U.S. steel, give 'em a call and find out.
