I have been looking for awhile for a 2 stage ****** jack. I didn't want to spend a few hundred bucks on a chinese one that could break, so looking for old skool.

This popped up on my CL search. It was on for 8-9 days and I was the only one to reply, no idea why. When I went to look at it, it didn't work 100%, it didn't hold pressure as I could push down on it. I was able to negotiate a lower price because of that. Anyway, after some new fluid, bleeding of the pump, and some elbow grease and degreaser, it works fine now. It is actually much larger and heavier than the photos appear. The one pic shows it in the back of my truck bed the day I got it.

It's a Hein Werner Model 74 with 1000lb capacity. I am guessing it was made in the 80s? I do see there are seal kits for them still in case that is needed. If anything knows anything about them, I'd like to hear.

Looks nice, lot of transmissions in and out in its past, all you should ever need in its future. Only downside is that it is BIG, which is no downside if you have the space.

I was wondering how it worked out for you. I realize this is from over a year ago but I found one just like it locally and was curious if you were satisfied with the way it worked.

I am very happy with it. I filled it with fluid and it works really good. I have had maybe 500 lbs on it. The only downside is it leaks which is due to either me overfilling it or a leaky seal. It's minor and I will just leave it for now. I would recommend you getting it if you can .
