Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time thread poster.

This old floorjack was my late grandfather's, who had obtained it from his father when he passed. I know there isn't much monetary value associated with this jack, but sentimentally it is one of those objects I would consider priceless.

At the moment the jack is functional...to the degree that it will pick up my 2007 3/4 ton dodge about 1" before I am unable to pump it further. I'm looking to restore this to full operating capacity at least. I'm conflicted as to if I should re-paint with a new ID tag, or keep as is...I guess that topic will come up when I get it thoroughly cleaned up.

From what I gather from the tag it is a Hein-Werner Corporation O'Boy Model OS. Rated at 2500 lbs, and made in Waukesha, WI. Does anybody have an idea on a MFG date? For what it's worth this floorjack does not have the "T" handle that I've seen on other rebuilt HW O'Boys. Also, I have not been able to find a similar jack that says "HYDRAULIC JACKS" in the tag below Hein-Werner's logo.

Any tips/tricks to rebuilding one of these would be helpful. I will most likely be following some of the other threads on GJ when going through the process. Look for an update to this thread later in the week.

Thanks guys!

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but that jack was never intended to lift 3/4 ton pickups. Try it on something like a mid size or smaller car, if no problems, I suspect there is nothing wrong with it.
