Well I am an active member of a few car boards and found this place looking for ideas for my new shop. I just sold the last car I built a 66 Cutlass restomod so I can build a new shop with some space. I have a 24 x 36 now but I keep collecting fab and sheetmetal tools that eat up shop space quick.

Here is a pic of the old shop and the car that will pay for the new 40 x 50

Bringing this back from the dead.

A lot has gone on in the last 6 years but not much with this building.
The building shell did go up about the same time we were about to have our 2nd daughter. She passed away at birth and it was the hardest thing me and my wife had even went through. I had managed to get some lights up and one 240V circuit for the air compressor and a few plugs on one wall. I just did not have the desire to really get anything done.

The silver lining is a year and a month after my daughter died we was blessed with twins. After that even if I had the desire I didn't have the time to do anything between work and kids. The new shop kind of became a giant storage barn.

Now fast forward 4.5 years after the twins are born they are easier to handle and don't require near a much attention I can get back to making this what I always wanted it to be. Just before the new year the wife's van fuel pump went out and while underneath it bench pressing the tank back up in place I looked over and see my lift laying on the floor with a bunch of junk piled on top of it. That was my tipping point. I had to get the shop together this year.

The last few months of spare time I have been getting my life up and wired, added 2 more 240V plugs so I can weld anywhere now. Last weekend I put up 5 more light fixtures on what will be the work bench / fabrication side of the shop. Today I have been added 120V circuits for plugs. I have been working with extension cords ever since the place was up. No more!!
