Hello, my name is Jim. I'm a retired Army Vet, I live near St. Louis. Now looking to get started doing some of my hobbies full time. After equipping my garage I look forward to restoring a couple of cars I've purchased over time. I love to ride my Concours 14, and prospect for semi precious stones in southern Utah. I enjoy skydiving and free climbing. I don't care much for paying people for doing something I can do myself. And thanks to the internet, there's not much one cannot learn to do. I'm sure I'll have some questions to post at times. However I hope to answer as many questions you have, as I would ask. I hope to meet many cool people here. Thanks Jim

Kind of guy I enjoy meeting! Welcome! Wife & I LEFT the area near St. Louis last year! Lived 13 years on 300 acres (shared with two others) down in the middle of Mark Twain, pretty rural. Was able to pursue my reloading and shooting hobby to my heart's content! Even saw a puma one morning!

Wife's Dad, dead now, was a rock-hunter all his life, cut them, polished, made jewelry, could pick up an ugly rock, tell it had a geode in it, break it open, he was right as often as not. He left a whole room filled with rocks in various stages. Southern Utah is a most beautiful place. I'm sure you heard this one: somewhere outside of Tonopah, Nevada, there is a place with enormous quantities of turquoise. monkey
