Hello everyone,
Starting a 30x40x12' workshop / garage with an additional 10 foot overhang for porch / storage on each side. I have the main 30x40 concrete slab poured, the concrete forms for the porch area is formed and waiting on weather to dry up again to be able to get concrete trucks in without making a mess.
We plan to build this ourselves. We'll turn this into a family affair with son, son-in-law, daughter and daughter-in-law providing the necessary helping construction hands.
These days I work at a desk all day but have the background of being a jack-of-all trades. Hope to pass a little of this on to the family. They all seem to be quite capable, some more experienced than others but all willing to pitch in and help.
Once finished, we'll use it as a wood working shop. I'll retire in 6-7 years and then I'll build another airplane. Having built two (RV7A & RV10) in a 2 car garage, I look forward to having the space!!
I'll start a thread and post some building pictures as we progress.
I appreciate all the past posts as it's great to have a place to go see how someone else has accomplished a task.
Merry Christmas to all,
Doug
