I am new here, I am hoping to build a 30x40 garage/shop this year. I am planning on a radiant heat concret floor and can't wait to get started. I have a plan in my mind, nothing on paper. Any starter plans or suggestions? Thanks

Welcome to GJ, tmars. There are plenty of members here in the same planning stage as you. Feel free to browse around and see what others have done.

The big question is to decide how you want to use your shop - weekend mechanic, car rebuild, wood shop, metalwork, kit cars or planes, or just a man cave to hang out and drink a cold one while watching a game or big race. Each one has different needs toward the goal. One thing I have learned, you can't have enough electric or lighting. 30x40 is a nice size to work with.

Good Luck with your project.

My Place is 48 x 36, and it's still not big enough! LOL! Spend some time in the Garage Gallery for some fine examples. Welcome and don't be a stranger!

Welcome aboard tmars, good luck with your shop.

just remember that when designing it to make it expandable. My 36X50 was fine till I started hanging out here. After seeing all the good ideas around here I'm now looking to expand my place.

Enjoy your time here.
