Hello, everyone.
I have 1930s house with a original old but quite solid looking tall (2m in height) stone wall as a boundary wall with my neighbour next to my drive way. I have gained a building permission to make this into a garage.
I am wondering how I could reuse this wall without knocking it down.

Thought of erecting a steel framed roof?

I would be grateful for any advice to keep this old wall to minimise the cost, the disruption with the neighbour.

Welcome to the Forum from Southwestern California.
Without a picture I feel that you are asking me to describe the image you have in your head, but I can't see.

I would, at this point, suggest you don't rely on the wall for bearing a load; set posts as if you are building a Pole Barn or Carport and use the posts to hold a beam that can support the roof framing.

Two meters, about 80", is a pretty short wall. You may want a curtain above it to give you more ceiling height, and weather protection.

That's great advice. I was thinking similar... what would you suggest is the most cost effective and rigid form for the posts?
