I have been following the forum for a couple of months. I have a shop in my backyard that is 24' x 28', but is quite over crowded now. I have purchased some land (8 acres) nearby, and hope to soon build a new home and shop. I have thousands of ideas, and will need to focus more on that soon. I have projects including a 1913 Studebaker, 1936 Chevrolet phaeton (export model only - not sold in USA) and a 1949 Willys Jeep CJ3A.
All of that will be for future discussion, because right now, I am preparing for a 23 day visit to Australia.
My father (happy father's day) was transferred there in April 1965 when I was one month shy of 8 years old. We lived in Brisbane for almost three years before moving back to the US. I will be arriving in Sydney on the 5th of July, then driving through unplanned and various ares to get to Longreach, QLD. Then travel on to Brisbane to see what remains after 50 years, and return to the US on the 28th of July.
While we lived there, we owned a Holden EK Special with automatic. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how or where I might be able to actually go for a ride in one of these. I would like for my wife and 11 year old daughter (old daddy) to see part of my childhood. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
