Hi all, I'm Takeshi living in Hiroshima, Japan.
I have been owning my Alfa Romeo 1750GTV for 30 years since I was 26 years old.
In 2004 when I moved to my current place to build our house, and 1 year later I started to build a small wooden garage for my Alfa Romeo by myself.

At that time my Alfa Romeo had been sleeping for 10 years at my friend's barn because of my family stage change (I was busy for my 3 daughters) and movement to Germany for my job. But finally I could have the environment to drive my Alfa Romeo again.

After 1 year (2005 to 2006) from my self-build start 70% was completed and I could bring my Alfa Romeo into my garage.
Then, I started the self-restoration of my Alfa Romeo at my garage. It took 3 years to made my Alfa Romeo come back on the road.

Now it past more than 10 year from that time. During that period things and gadgets were increased and the inside of the garage became chaotic. I was thinking to start the improvement of my garage and at that time I found this nice forum.

So, I am pleased to join this forum and would like to communicate with you and have lots of nice ideas and inspiration!

Thanks,
Takeshi

Welcome Takeshi.....

I'm going to have to guess you work for one of the auto makers?

I feel your pain regarding cars, kids and work.

You can't post pics of the car just yet unless you use a photo hosting site....but we do want to see pics of that Alfa....

As for the garage.....start with purging what you don't need. If you have moved it 3 times and still don't have a use for it....toss it.

Welcome to GJ! Love the Alfa Romeo. It's beautiful. Your house and garage look nice. I love the rustic architecture of Japanese buildings.

Hi John,
Unfortunately my company doesn't have a plant in Australia.
By the way, I visited your thread My Garage Build Link and I was impressed very much!

Hi jd_1138,
Thanks, I love my Alfa. I am also happy to hear you like Japanese traditional architecture. It is natural and relaxing place.

And thanks regarding my garage.

Yes, it is my self build garage.
I asked the concrete foundation to the constructor who built my house. And regarding the Assemble of the main pillars and beams, I asked support to my friends and did it in one day.
But all other parts I built alone and it took 1 year spending my weekends.

3rd photo is just after I finished almost. (But even now there are some unfinished parts.)

I like your Alpha, it looks not a lot larger than the car in my shelter - a 1969 Corolla!

Did you use the traditional units of measurement when building? I was amazed to learn that you can buy measuring tapes in these units, I think they are "Raku" and one Raku is very close to our foot - being about 11-15/16 inches.
