Hi everody.
Thanks for letting me join, been reading a lot on the forums as a non member.
My name is George and I live on the Isle of Lewis in North Scotland. I am a car mechanic to trade but have been working in construction and skippering boats the last 15 years. I have a 2 car garage I'm currently renovating and I have a tool addiction, so the forum is great for me . I look forward to maybe putting some input into future threads. I have several projects on the go and do repairs at weekends to work colleagues and mates cars.

I always like hearing about life and conditions outside of our country, thanks for joining!

I grew up in Alaska and my wife is from a fishing village, so maybe it is a little bit similar.

Thanks kbeefy. Yes, I would imagine it's very similar, it's a very fishing orientated Island here, but there's only about half the fishing boats working out of our harbour compared to ten years ago. if anyone has any questions about Scotland or the island I would be happy to answer . I am currently about to start pressure washing the garage ready for a coat of fresh render.
