Hi. I’m Todd Forshee from southern California. I’ve been reading the Forums in Garage Journal for some time and figured it’s about time I become a member. My wife believes I’m a certifiable Toolahloic. She may be right.
I have a respectable collection of Craftsman, made in USA, tools. Mostly ratchets and the “Professional” line of combination wrenches. I’ve been following the threads by members like John C. and Dr. Doom on the history of some of the Craftsman tools. Someday soon I plan on launching my own thread on the short, but complicated, history of the Craftsman “Professional” combination wrench. Still doing research.
I am also thinking of a thread about the elusive Craftsman “Quick Release” socket extension. When the Quick Release ratchet was introduced in the late 60s, there was a pin that protruded from the end of the square drive when you pushed the Quick Release button. About the same time, Craftsman had a set of socket extensions that had a pin that ran up through the middle and released the socket from end of the extension when you pushed the button on the ratchet. Most people have never heard of it and think I’m crazy but I own two of them.
Anyway, glad to be a member.

Hello and welcome! Interesting intro.

Every now and then I'm surprised by a Craftsman tool I haven't seen before. I started out focusing on Craftsman, but don't recall running into that piece ever.

Thanks for sharing.

Does that read 43535?

Yes it does.

1/2" drive 3" length #43535
3/8" drive 3" length #43533

I had 6" lengths in both drive sizes but they have disappeared from my tool box a long time ago. Didn't know I had such a unique item.
They came with a black plastic ring at the base to help grasp it while you pushed the button, but are long gone also.
