First off, thanks for letting me join..
I registered here to hopefully draw from the many areas of great knowledge this community has to offer and to contribute if and when I can..
I bought a house last summer basically sight unseen..I only drove by it, never went inside nor inspected the garage etc..I was very sick at the time.. It just come up in the area I wanted to live, having a garage and being in my VERY LIMITED budget, I got on it like a cheap tool on craigslist, immediately..
Both the house and garage need lots of tlc but with the help of this community, its possible !!

Thanks again,
Scott

Welcome Scott. You know, I have issues with buying something (most anything) that I know I'm going to need to "re-do" to meet my needs or expectations. Better to do what you have done, and spend time and $ to make it into your ideal home. Good luck.

Scot: sounds like you got a NEIGHBORHOOD and maybe a house and garage you can work with so post up a few pictures so you'll know how and lots of members here are pretty handy so ask questions on the right threads and you'll almost be ready to apply for your CONTRACTOR'S license soon.

take a peek at the WOODWORKING 101 thread and here's a link that should be helpful in a lot of DIY home projects especially if you like to work with wood. here's the link:
