Was recommended to this site by a friend on another forum. His garage is my inspiration along with many others I have seen on here. Go to www.gezagear.com and scroll down their home page until you come to the 'Dream garage' section-that featured garage belongs to my friend:drool:

I'm fortunate enough to have been to many man-caves on my travels across the USA and how I wish we had the products availbale to you guys over here.

I'm just outside London (recently relocated) and had to leave my lovely 25' x 9' attached garage that had loads of storage and also my pride & joy, a genuine US made insulated sectional garage door with remote opener-it was just so cool.

The new home offers us more of everything apart from, yes, you guessed it, the garage:(- it's just a 12'x 8' detached building.
However, I have planning approval to build a 40' x 12' x 11' (can't go much higher due to planning restrictions), that should make up for it. The only downside is that I will be putting up an internal wall & generously donating some of the space to the wife for all the garden stuff (and the kids bikes :))

I've been following the builds section with interest and will no doubt be raising a few queries.

I plan on doing something a little unusual with my build (for the UK at least) and that it to use SIP's or structurally insulated panels to form the building shell. My main reason is the speed of build, plus it gives me back the high/vaulted ceilings that I had at my last house and that it will be a 'warm' garage-I like to tinker, sometimes well into the night & the last thing you need is a cold garage-the last one had a radiator off the main house heating:)

I look forward to sharing my build with you and incorperating as many of the ideas as I can that this forum has given me already.

Welcome to the site. I checked out your friends motorcycle garage, and it is a dream to be sure. Keep us posted on the SIPS construction. I have used them over post and beam construction a number of times, but never as the structural component. An interesting concept I would like to see in practice.
