New shed for the yard is in the works and after sampling a lot of designs, a few quotes and two visits to local dealers ( Reeds Ferry and Post Woodworking ) I've decided that I have to do this myself.

So, for today after reviewing some flooring options I came across this site and it seems to be the place with lots of guys like me; living the dream, saving money and making a mark in the yard.

Thanks to everyone for such a supportive group. I have very little if any at all skill in this area but I'm determined to get it done right. Quotes I've seen for my 14x20 design are from $9,583 to $14,400 so if this comes in below I'm a happy camper.

Andrew: you might want to go in your profile and put in your location so when you ask questions the members can know what part of the world you live in. also while you are in your profile you can click on Avitar and download a picture you like.

as far as your costs a few more questions about your materials and permits might need to be answered.

do you need permits and what are the costs and requirements?

i member in Arizona built a 20 x 20 detached garage for $5,000 doing all the work himself without any permits and i'll try to help you find that thread if you ask.

good luck and i'm sure you can build it with a little skill and ask questions if you have any
