I've been lurking around here for a while, and I figured I should probably post and introduce myself a little. I must confess that I've been a bit intimidated by a good number of the garages you all have posted here, which is why I've been lurking mostly. I have a reasonable sized space, but my toybox isn't anywhere as nice as most of the ones I've seen here.
I have a 42x75 garage space with 14' eaves and 21' to the peak. Its a clear span Miracle Truss building. And I've been working on adding some of the "toys" to it that will make life easier for me long term. (4 post lift, Large compressor and TransAir air lines, etc.) I suppose I've been intimidated by the level to which a lot of the folks here seem to build their garages to. Mine has unfinished walls, Grey industrial concrete stain on the floors, surplus pallet racking for storage, and Home depot 8' fluorescent fixtures down one side of the space for overall lighting. Also my garage tends to run to the "cluttered" end of things. (OK, its a disaster.)
I am slowly working on organizing it better, but I'm no where near where I'd like it to be. (and based on some of the garages here, I'm NEVER going to be as organized and neat as you guys. Unbelievable stuff on here.)
I tend to work on garage upgrade projects as well as car projects as time and budgets allow. And I'm less concerned about how the garage looks as I am with how it works for me. My garage is by no means a real "working" garage cause I'm firmly in the tinkering stage in terms of my skills. I'm nowhere near being a "mechanic" of any sort. But I do enjoy my time in the garage. Which is why I built it really.
I guess that rambling explanation is a sort of pre-apology as I may go back to lurking and reading here more than posting. There are some folks here that have absolutely AMAZING garage spaces. And its pretty cool to be able to share in them a little though the photos. Thanks for letting everyone enjoy both your spaces, and this community.
