Hi guys,
I have joined GJ a while ago. Lots of great info shared here!
After some 12 years living in Vancouver, Canada, my entire family moved to Berlin (my got a position here). First we wanted to stay here for a couple years, but now it seems we like it here, so maybe we'll stay for a bit longer before returning to Canada.
I'm not a pro, so I'm using tools for hobby/DIY. After I realized how many good tools are available here at incredibly low prices (compared to Canada), I started building my collection... quickly replacing the cheap/worn out tools I brought from Canada. A set of 4 VBW pliers, made in Germany, for 29 EUR? A complete set of 12 German-made VDE pliers for 106 EUR shipped? 12 German-made VDE screwdrivers for 10 EUR? Such things are unheard of in Canada (or at least very difficult to get). In Vancouver, this sort of money would buy me mid-range tools made in Taiwan.
Anyway; I expect to be posting soon to my favorite thread here, Tools from the old world, with some interesting and unusual stuff I was able to source here. Cheers!
