Hello all,

This is my first post.

I am currently giving my workshop a make-over & the next job to tackle is a new bench top.

My material of choice is trimber....but which timber?
I am leaning towards either hardwood or MDF.

Your comments will be appreciated.

What you choose for your benchtop depends on what kind of work you think you'll be doing on it. I have a couple of benches with MDF tops, one with pineboard and two are steel. All are used for different purposes so work well for their intended applications so I keep anything wet or oily off the timber based tops so they stay flat, clean and dry.
