Hello fellow gear heads and shop dwellers.
I was urged to make a post and introduce myself, so here I am. I am moving to the Mad River Valley this coming spring, where I plan to work a few more years and then retire to what was once my vacation home.
I purchased the adjacent lot some years back, and after a long period of planning and chasing permits, I will be breaking ground this month on a 26x36 garage and adjacent 960 sf guest house. The final meeting with the architects and builder is today, and I’m pretty keyed up right now.
While lurking, I’ve harvested lots of good information about cabinets, lifts, non-chloride accelerants for reinforced concrete, and more. I will be installing New Age Pro cabinets, a Bend-Pak lift and compressor, a really good espresso machine, and more.
I’m into old British cars and all motorcycles, and I plan to get into RC aircraft and drones when I retire from my life as a professional pilot.
Thanks for all your help. If you’ve ever started construction on a concrete-intensive project on the cusp of a New England winter, please chime in with any tips.
Cheers, Tom
