Hi Everyone!
What a great site!!!! I stumbled in here (glad I did) while researching different garage flooring options (epoxies). Been lurking for 2 hours and NEEDED to register!
Purchased a home here in Colorado that has a nice 3 car garage (approx 850 sf or so) and will be fixing it up to my liking over the next few months.
The garage has a basement underneath it and unfortunately has a couple of minor issues that I need to resolve prior to attacking the flooring options.
House was built in 2005 and here in Colorado (yup was 80 on Sunday and it was snowing all day today) the weather is a bit funky at times. In the basement below the garage there is water seeping from the garage floor into the basement. Just some minor rust damage on the I-Beams below but the structural engineer pinned the problem down in like 3 seconds
Turns out the expansion joints have some very small cracks that allow water to seep below when vehicles are driven inside and the snow/rain falls off. He suggested a thing called NP-1 to clear up the issues.
My intentions are to seal the cracks but want to make sure that I do it right as I want to put down an epoxy floor to make the garage really nice. I used the Behr garage coatings in our last house and while it looked nice for a little bit, there were a bit of hot tire issues.
Anyhow, thanks for allowing me on board and look forward to suggestions and ideas for all types of things! Can't wait to show my progress as this endeavor continues!
Cheers
