My name is Chris and I’m a bit of a Jeep enthusiast (always somebody more ********) and have converted my cookie cutter 20x20 garage into a modest small shop. I found this forum researching the US General Series 3 boxes. Checked them out in person and pulled the trigger on their 72” top and bottom box today. They are supposed to arrive at the local HF in late Sept to early Oct. I’m in no rush as I’m recovering from Achilles surgery. I‘m always purchasing new tools for different Jeep jobs and accessories. I sub contract for Bestop moonlighting as a professional soft top installer, I’ve installed well over 400 Jeep and Bronco soft tops over the last 2 seasons covering an area from CT to VA. It’s a constant struggle to maximize and organize this small space and messes are easy to make as I often work on projects late and let my tools pile up. I’m in the middle of overhauling my storage solutions to make things a little easier in the future. I’m looking forward making new friends, seeing everyone’s projects and spaces, tools and getting advice and new ideas. Here’s a few pics of my Jeeps and garage.

I didn’t really get bit by Jeeps until about 10 years ago. I didn’t grow up around them although I kinda grew up in the car business since my dad was in used car sales from the time I was 4 until I was in my early twenties before he moved on to upper management. I always wanted him to bring home Firebirds and Camaros as a kid.

I have a bit of a frankenjeep I’m building that will be a CJ-7. The frame is from an ‘84 that I found reconditioned in NJ and an overhauled YJ tub in Berlin MD that had the necessary changes and modifications “to be” a CJ. It’s a very slow burn as it’s been through two moves post divorce and other jobs taking priority. I’ve collected a lot of major components just need to make time to get to it. I’ve gotten a 62k mile Chevy Silverado 4.8 LS motor, trans, pcm and harness for it and the remaining body panels (hood, fenders, grille) for it. I need the main wiring harness and some parts and accessories for the LS conversion in order to make significant progress on it when I finally make it a main focus.
