Hello everyone,

I've been lurking for the past few weeks gathering ideas from everyone. I currently have a single car garage that I've outgrown. I have to share the garage with holiday decorations and boxes full of family heirlooms. Recently, I got a new job that has made it possible to build the shop I've always wanted. I'm waiting until next spring, seeing as I am getting married in the fall and have some other stuff to pay off in the meantime.

I want to build a shop with 2 double doors and deep enough to feel comfortable with my truck inside (~21 feet long). I have 3 mustangs, the shop will be used for restoration and keeping them safe. I also want to put a 4-post lift big enough for my F-250 later on. I'm not quite sure what size I need to build but if someone could point me in the right direction of floor plans I would greatly appreciate it.

Matt: if you ask the question about how big to build a garage 99% of the time the members on this forum will say as much as you can afford or borrow or that you might be limited to if you are on a smaller lot.

with 4 cars inside and some shop space i'd say 30 x 50 would be about right and of course you can make it smaller if you want or need to. since you've been lurking have you been looking in garage gallery at all the garages?

what is your budget and any idea what the cost of a pole or stick built garage will cost you to have built or are you going to do a lot of the building?

good luck and ask questions here or better would be to ask questions on the threads where the members are talking about garages in the same size as the ones your want to build.

welcome

Hello and welcome to the forum Matt it sounds like you have a big year ahead of you.

Drives suggestion of 30 x 50 would be my best guess as well. Have a brouse through some of the shops here you may find something that will work for your situation.

All the best for your up coming wedding as well.

Regards
