Hi Garage Journal Junkies.

Hi my name is Doug, and I have clean garage envy.

As you can see below, mine is currently somewhat full.

This building is known as the A Shack, for obvious reasons. This is part of my fathers 40yrs collection of T and A cars and parts

So am cleaning up another building close to this one that is a 24x36 for a work shop. I have no pics of it at this time, but it will be a work shop to build a few of these back up. It will be known as the B Shack.

You got some explainin' to do -

In the photos, it appears that the wood posts, ceiling beams, cross ties, etc are all relatively "fresh". The model A's all seem to have a nice fifteen year or more build up of dust on them.

Optical illusion? Did you move the cars in there from another storage facility?

Hello all, thanks for the welcome.

Dad had this shop built in about 1974, started to park cars inside. Pic 1 shows it then

Then the same year thought of building the shelf system, removed everything and built the shelves. I put in most of the nails after getting home from school at age 13.

As you can see, the building still looks pretty good and the shelves gave us a lot more storage. The first pic I posted is about 3yrs old, been lots of changes inside since then, and I still have many days of sorting to do.

I still have vehicles that have been in that building since it was built 35 years ago.

This is what it looks like behind the A Shack.

We are keeping 11 of these in the family, so yes, I have many years of work to go.

Note where this shop is. Baker is in the Oregon hi desert where wood is not attacked by moisture causing discoloration. That country is also known for dust storms. When people go looking for good 'barn boards' this is some wonderful country to go looking.

yep definitely dry there if it weren't for scavengers there's still be wagons & etc littering the oregon trail out that way

Be careful what you suggest you might get taken up on it, are you by chance near the oregon trail museum? I remember a place there that had bunch of old tractors& farm equipt. sitting outside.

was over that way yesterday,was just passing thru at 65 mph(fruitland id -salem or rd trip) that rotating light at the airport sure looks funny reflecting off the clouds.at night..lol

if ya ever need any lumber/bldg supplies give me a call 208-452-4400 Franklin Bldg Supply ,ask for Hank.....also just curious,how many ben's would one of those fetch?
Maybe just a body & frame?

I think an old roadster would be cool if it only had something like a 2.3L ford engine in it, or a small I6, it would make it easily driveable.

Well Hank it sounds like you were in my country, Salem, the other day. Last time I was in Payette was the see Hoyt Axton in concert there. Actually the only time in Payette. Nice country.

I do have some fairly complete cars for sale, but am running out of unattached bodies.
No longer have any A roadsters unless you would want a T.
Price, would be in the $1500 and up depending the quality.
