Okay...so I have lurked here for some time and lurked when this was GarageJunkies, but until recently I have not posted anything. I have been planning my shop for some time, but it has not been until recently that I started the actual work.

I little about myself...I am in my early 30's, am an Mechanical Engineer, and have a passion for Old Chevys. I own a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe and a 1968 Chevrolet C-10 Stepside Pickup. The pickup is currently torn down to the frame for a complete restoration. This is the main reason for the shop! My little 2-car attached garage just doesn't cut it. Luckily I have the space for a pretty good size shop.

My shop is going to be a 48 x 32 with a partial loft covering 18 x 32 with scissor trusses. I will be installing a bathroom with shower (in order to keep grease and grime off the house doorknobs...and keep the wife happy). The garage will have 2 garage doors (1 12h x 10w and 1 10h x 10w). Interior height is 13'-6" to the top plate with 9' walls below the loft.

I am going to try and do most of the work myself, but I am contracting the foundation. In fact I hope to be starting that work right after the 4th holiday. Right now I am concentrating on cleaning up the site as I had to have 8 trees taken out in order to make room. So far in the last 2 days I have removed 2 stumps. The ones outside of the foundation I think I will grind because they are 30-44" diameter!

Here are some pictures of the work so far: http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slidesh...436312.81777436312.1182546463724&conn_speed=1
