Hello there, my father recently bought a used floor jack to work on our pickup and turns out it's quite the vintage find but needs some care and parts, after searching the internet far and wide i came across this forum which seems to be THE information source for this kind of things -which i'll be posting in detail after this intro in the appropiate forum-.

From the long post about rebuild floor jacks.

DO NOT MESS WITH THE RELIEF VALVE(S). They are difficult (impossible) to properly re-adjust without proper equipment.

Most hydraulic shops will have the ring, wipers and seals you need if you bring them in for them to inspect. The piston and cylinder need to be as close to perfect as possible or you will have a leak.
