Hello from Grand Rapids, Michigan! I've been a long-time lurker, constantly looking at all of your great setups and getting some ideas. I'm getting our small, low clearance, 517 sq ft garage floor done in a color chip from Garage Force, and now I've started looking at storage and tool boxes. Probably going to go with Masterforce, and just a 36" rolling unit for now. I'm not a mechanic by trade, so that should serve my purpose.

Our house is a 1962 mid-century modern raised ranch, and two car garage located under the upper bedrooms. Garage has original wood panelling, which I think is kind of cool, and it has a radiant (hot water) baseboard heat so it stays pretty warm even in the winter. I was thinking green Masterforce boxes would go well with the vintage style of the garage with the wood panelling (see pic below). And I've narrowed down the color chip to either a Terrazo color (light tan with red and brown flakes) or Gravel (white, gray, and slate). Haven't decided on wall cabinets, but I like the idea of doing something like wooden kitchen cabinets to blend in.

Welcome to the GJ.

Friends of mine called me yesterday 4-10 Wed. from I-75 in no. Florida as they drove back to Gull Lake, south of you. They have a small winter home on the west coast in Engelwood FL. I told them, "why go now, wait a week and avoid the MI snow!"

"We know, " they replied.

I'll see them in August for a 50 year high school reunion where they live. I left MI in my early 20's for south Florida and don't regret it. S.W. Michigan does have some scenic roads, I like M-37 south of you, that's where Gordon Johncock learned to drive. Two Indy 500 wins, not too-shabby!

Do you have room in your panel for some 240 volt services? Gotta feed those tools. Each side wall w/its own 20 amp 120 volt branch circuit is a good idea too. Some 4 ft LED lights on the ceiling will make it much easier to work.

We got a dusting of snow last night, but thankfully it melted away this morning. Appreciate the advice. Yeah, I'm going to be updating the panel in the near future anyways to run a high velocity central A/C system. I've got just hand tools and some Milwaukee cordless stuff. I'd consider myself barely a DIY guy (change oil, minor home repairs, etc). I just want a decent place to store my tools and organize our garage. Current situation is a mess.
